MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Another top ten individual finish from sophomore
Samantha Ford highlighted the Bethune-Cookman performance at the ISTAP Hornet Classic hosted by Alabama State.

The sophomore from Daytona Beach averaged 183.0 in her five traditional games with a high of 23 for seventh-best in the field of 48.

"It's good to see Samantha consistently competing with the best bowlers in the center," said BCU Head CoachÂ
Chelsea Gilliam. "We'll expect to see this every time she's out there for the next three years."

Freshman Ashley Beckly built on her debut and finished 29th with an average of 163 and a high game of 195. Senior
Bethany Gray-Shealey (149.6) with 36th, followed by
Shekinah Staten (46th, 100.4) andÂ
Faith Calvin (48th, 88.4).

In team competition, BCU complied a 2-8 record  to earn a seventh seed heading into the final day but was overtaken by Grambling State.

BCU returns to action Jan. 24-26 in the Rattler Classic in Pensacola.
