BOCA RATON, Fla. --Â Bethune-Cookman had the first round lead, but ended up sixth in the team standings at the FAU Spring Championship Sunday.
Ahead by four shots after 18 holes, the Wildcats were overtaken by UCF, who used the 1-2 finish of Bobby Bai (200) and Kyler Tate (204) for an 829-838 victory over host Florida Atlantic. BCU's team score was 855.
Jake Lane had BCU's low individual total, finishing tied for 16
th with a four-under par 212. Â He had the team's low round with a 68 to start the tournament.
Marcus Sundlof and
Christian Hovstadius for 29
th at 216, while Lucas Johnson shot 220 and tied for 42
nd.
Dante Davis, who Sunday's low round of 69 along with Hovstadius, came in tied for 58
th at 223.
BCU heads to Tallahassee for the FAMU Spring Invitation next Saturday and Sunday. It's the team's final tournament before the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship April 21-23 in Savannah, Ga. Â
