PENSACOLA, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University bowling returned to action this weekend at the Rattler Invitational, finishing seventh in the seven team event.
Sophomore
Samantha Ford highlighted the Lady Wildcats' individual efforts, averaging 167.2 pins in the five traditional games for a 13th place finish. Her high game was a 194. Freshman
Ashley Beckley rolled a 191 and averaged 160 to finish 16th.
"Sam continues to be a leader for the team," said BCU Head Coach
Chelsea Gilliam. "We are showing progress in some areas and look forward to more success throughout the rest of the season."
Bethany Gray-Shealey (156.6) was 19th, followed by
Shekinah Staten (105.4, 33rd) and
Faith Calvin (93.4, 34th).
In the team standings, BCU compiled a 1-10 record with an average pin fall of 135.2 per game. The lone victory came against Grambling State in the final match of traditional play.
Jackson State edged host Florida A&M for the team title.
BCU returns to action next month hosting the Wildcats Feb. 7-9 in Orlando.
