DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman begins the second half of the 2019-20 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference schedule Saturday with a key game against North Carolina A&T at 4 p.m. in Historic Moore Gym.
The Wildcats made the turn at .500 (4-4) in league play and 10-12 overall. That puts them three and a half games by the first place Aggies (12-12,8-1)l two behind Norfolk State and North Carolina Central and a game and a half behind Morgan State.
BCU will play five of its final eight games at home.
STORY LINES:
- The Wildcats lead the league in total offense at 75.4 ppg.
- BCU was 5-0 before the Jan. 18 loss to North Carolina Central that started this current trend of three losses in the last four games.
- Cletrell Pope is sixth in the nation in rebounding (11.5 per game) and 12th in double-doubles (12)
- Isaiah Bailey leads the MEAC in FT made 126 and is fifth in FT percentage (.803). Also, he needs 129 points to reach 1,000 for his BCU career.
- Joe French leads the MEAC in 3FG percentage (.455).
SCOUTING REPORT: The Aggies have won five straight… Ronald Jackson is second behind Pope in the league rebounding (10.3 per game) and is sixth in scoring (14.2).
