DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Matthew Garcia and
Chase DeBonis each drove in two runs as Bethune-Cookman returned home to Jackie Robinson Ballpark with a 7-2 victory over Fairfield Tuesday.
Guillermo Gelpi had three hits as the Wildcats (6-11) cranked out 12 hits and snapped a four-game losing streak.
DeBonis singled home
Josten Heron in the third to give BCU a 2-1 lead. Garcia followed in the next inning with a two-run single to put the Wildcats up three.
Franki Febles' RBI double, a Heron RBI single and DeBonis' sacrifice fly highlighted a three-run BCU sixth.
Knickolas Billings picked up his second win of the season, striking out three.
Ryan Ayrey,
Rafael Perez- Guzman and
Jordan Delucia combined for three innings of relief with just one unearned run between them.
BCU travels to Miami to meet FIU and BCU Hall of Famer Mervyl Melendez Wednesday.
