Bethune-Cookman Volleyball Releases 2022 Schedule

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman volleyball is set for season two in the Southwestern Athletic Conference as the Wildcats and head coach Brittany Williams release their 2022 schedule.

Williams enters her seventh season at the helm, and looks to reach the program's all-time mark in head coaching wins should things go according to plan this season.

"It's going to be an exciting year for us," Williams said. "We've added some new pieces to a great foundation, and I think our schedule will challenge us to become the best we can be for our second year in the SWAC."

The Wildcats open the 2022 slate with four three-game weekend tournaments on the road, opening with a trip to North Carolina to take on UNC Greensboro, as well as two old MEAC foes, North Carolina A&T and Coppin State.

As the season rolls into September, B-CU will then take to Houston, Tex., for three games in two days against Louisiana Monroe, Houston Baptist, and California Riverside.

The Wildcats will once again visit DeLand for a trio of games with Mercer, Stetson, and SIUE, starting Sept. 9.

B-CU will wrap up non-conference play with a weekend in Nashville, where the Wildcats will take on Belmont, North Alabama, and Tennessee State Sept. 16-17.

The Wildcats did not win a non-conference game a season ago. Williams expects her team to come together as they build towards conference play in late September.

"Non-conference is always a great chance to see where we're at as a team and grow while we head towards conference," Williams said. "I expect us to be competitive against a solid non-conference schedule and learn a lot about ourselves heading towards SWAC play."

The Wildcats will open SWAC play with the 2022 home opener as they welcome in bitter rivals, Florida A&M, to Moore Gymnasium on Sept. 23. B-CU will not return home again until the final four games of the regular season, beginning Nov. 4.

The Wildcats will hit the road once again on Sept. 30 as they head to Alabama for games with Alabama State and Alabama A&M – The Wildcats swept the Bulldogs in two games a season ago.

The Wildcats will return to Alabama the very next weekend for a cluster of SWAC contests with Alcorn State, Sothern, and Texas Southern on Oct. 9-10.

B-CU visits Itta Bena on Oct. 14 to take on Mississippi Valley State, whom they swept in SWAC play a season ago, followed by a trip to Jackson State on Oct. 16.

The Wildcats visit the Rattlers of FAMU on Oct. 21 in Tallahassee.

B-CU will wrap up its road schedule with one final SWAC cluster on Halloween weekend in Prairie View, Tex. The Wildcats will take on Prairie View A&M, Arkansas – Pine Bluff, and Grambling State.

The Wildcats close out the 2022 regular season with four games at Moore Gymnasium. The final two weekends of SWAC play will see B-CU take on Alabama State, Alabama A&M, MVSU, and Jackson State.

The 2022 SWAC Volleyball tournament will be held in Houston, Tex. The weekend of Nov. 18-20.

"We learned a lot about the SWAC last season," Williams said. "I think we come into this year more prepared for what to expect. We're excited to get going and we know what we're capable of."
