BCU Unveils Indoor Track Schedule

Cats to compete in six regular season events

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Head Coach Garon Jackson introduced the 2023-24 Bethune-Cookman Indoor Track & Field schedule on Tuesday, Nov. 14, with the Wildcats to compete in seven events throughout the upcoming campaign.

Garon Jackson, in his first season back in Daytona Beach – and his first at the helm of the Wildcats program, is eager to open the indoor season December 1, in Birmingham, Alabama.

"This season's indoor schedule will allow our program to get some quality meets in and help us to prepare for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Indoor Championships," commented Jackson.

Bethune-Cookman opens the season at the Birmingham Southern Invite taking place December 1, in Birmingham, Alabama. The event will be hosted by Birmingham Southern College.

The 2024 calendar year portion of the slate begins January 13, when the Wildcats travel to the Gamecock Opener at the University of South Carolina. The following weekend, BCU returns to the "Sunshine State" for the RADD Sports College Invitational in Gainesville, Florida.

The second trip to the "Palmetto State" occurs February 2-3, as Bethune-Cookman participates in the South Carolina Invite hosted once again by the USC Gamecocks. On February 8, BCU visits Gainesville for the second time for the Florida Invitational.

The indoor regular season wraps up with the SWAC Indoor Championships taking place February 17-18, in Birmingham, Alabama.

"This will also give the student-athletes an opportunity to execute the strategies and techniques so that the coaching staff can make proper adjustments that will lead to success," said Jackson.

The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships are set to run March 8-9, in Boston, Massachusetts.
