TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - It will be a battle for first in the SWAC East this weekend as the Wildcats head to Tallahassee two games back of Florida A&M for the top spot in the conference.

Bethune-Cookman managed just one hit as Jacksonville came out with a run-rule victory, 11-0, Tuesday night at John Sessions Field.
Bethune-Cookman put a pair of runners on in the first as
Daniel Figueroa led off the game with a single and
Jose Gonzalez reached on an error. A double steal put runners on second and third before a strikeout ended the frame.
Jacksonville got on the board in the bottom of the first with a two-out RBI single.
The Wildcats loaded the bases in the top of the third withouth recording a hit as
Jayme Villafane, Manny Soufrain, and Gonzalez walked, but another swinging strikeout stranded the bases juiced.
Jacksonville broke things open in the bottom of the inning, plating five runs after loading the bases with a pair of two-run doubles and a passed ball to make it 6-0.
The Dolphins added one more in the fourth, capitalizing on a wild pitch to go up 7-0. They added two runs in the seventh and two in the eighth to reach the ten-run run-rule mark and end things early at 11-0.
Joel Core made the start and suffered the loss. In two innings he allowed one earned run on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
The Rattlers are 22-21 on the year including a 17-4 mark in SWAC play. They enter play this weekend off a series win at Jackson State on the road, including a 12-0 win in the rubber game Sunday.
The Rattlers dropped two of three to B-CU back in March, taking the third game, 3-2 in an 11-inning contest at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
The Rattlers rank fifth in the SWAC in overall offense, hitting .297 as a team with a second-best 46 homers. Sebastian Greico is second in the league in homers with nine.
On the mound, FAMU ranks just behind B-CU with a 5.80 team ERA and 294 strikeouts to 192 walks. Caleb Granger is behind only
Tanner Boccabello with a 3.13 ERA on the year, with 57 strikeouts to 19 walks.
Friday marks the 182nd meeting in the all-time series between B-CU and FAMU. Bethune-Cookman is107-74 in the all-time series.
