DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. - Dearis Thomas of B-CU Football and Niara Hightower of B-CU Volleyball have been named Wildcats of the Week for the week of August 26 - September 1, 2024.

Redshirt Sophomore Dearis Thomas led the B-CU defense with 8 total tackles - 4 solo - in the Wildcats season opener on the road against South Florida on Saturday. He also recorded 2 tackles for losses and a sack.

Senior middle blocker Niara Hightower led the way for the Wildcats during the 2024 Bash at the Beach. On the weekend, she totaled 24 kills on a .320 attack percentage, as well as 16 total blocks - four solo. She led the team in each of those categories. 

Each week, The Bethune-Cookman Office of Athletic Communications recognizes one male and one female student-athlete through the Wildcats of the Week award. This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of Wildcat Athletics.
