DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -  Melissa Gonzalez of B-CU Volleyball has been named Wildcat of the Week for the week of October 13-19, 2025.

Freshman setter Melissa Gonzalez continued her excellent true freshman season with her best weekend yet as a Wildcat. B-CU improved to 7-2 in SWAC play, building on a six-game winning streak, including a 3-1 takedown of SWAC-leading Prairie View A&M, which was previously undefeated in conference play. For the second time in her young career, the Miami Gardens product topped 20 assists in back-to-back matches with 29 and 23 against Texas Southern and Prairie View, respectively. She also added 15 digs and a pair of kills.

Each week, The Bethune-Cookman Office of Athletic Communications recognizes one male and one female student-athlete through the Wildcats of the Week award.

This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of Wildcat Athletics.
