DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Amya Jennings of B-CU Volleyball and
Ali Scott Jr. of B-CU Football have been named Wildcats of the Week for the week of September 29 - October 5.
Sophomore outside hitter
Amya Jennings stamped a new match career-high in kills last week as she helped spark Bethune-Cookman Volleyball to a road split of matches away to Alabama A&M and Alabama State, respectively. The Edina, Minnesota native tallied 25 kills, 27 digs, two blocks and a service ace. Against AAMU, she posted the first of two consecutive double-doubles as she managed 11 kills and 15 digs to go along with a pair of assisted blocks. Two days later in a 3-1 win over Alabama State, Jennings produced a career-high 14 kills and 12 digs in the match.
Ali Scott Jr powered a strong B-CU run game in Saturday's game at Alabama State. The Ole Miss transfer finished the day with 100 yards even on nearly seven yards per carry, including a long of 24. The graduate student is averaging overr five yards per carry on the season.
Each week, The Bethune-Cookman Office of Athletic Communications recognizes one male and one female student-athlete through the Wildcats of the Week award.
