BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Indoor Track season concludes this weekend as the Wildcats get set for the 2025 SWAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, set to be hosted at the Birmingham Crossplex on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 22-23. 



The Wildcats wrapped up the indoor regular season with strong performances at the Celebration Pointe Classic last weekend at the Alachua County Sports Complex.

Twenty-nine Wildcat participants finished in the top ten of their respective events.

For the men...

De'Quon King finished first in the men's 600 meters with a time of 1:20.46.

Xavier Bogan grabbed second in the mens triple jump with 14.97m.

Ryan Longmire finished second in the men's 600 meters with a time of 1:20.75

Jordan Riche finished fourth in the men's weight throw with 17.12m.

Luis Castaneda finished seventh in the men's weight throw with 14.59m.

Jonathan Gaines finished seventh in the men's 400 meters with a time of 49.48.

Tyler Washington finished seventh in the men's shot put with 14.34m.

Jancent Wallace finished eighth in the men's 400 meters with a time of 49.58.

Michael Carter finished ninth in the men's triple jump with 13.65m.

Ethan Sharpe finished ninth in the men's 400 meters with a time of 49.74.

De'Quon King, DeShawn Buist, Ethan Sharpe and Jonathan Gaines finished second in the men's 4x400 relay with a time of 3:16.49.

Kaden McKire finished ninth in the men's long jump with 6.57m. He also finished tenth in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.83m.

Sytrevion Dyer finished first in the men's long jump with 7.20m. He also grabbed tenth in the men's high jump with 1.83m.

For the women...

Kasie Ugeh finished second in the women's shot put with 12.62m.

Nymera Presley finished fifth in the women's 60 Hurdles Finals with a time of 8.94.

Mariana Morillo finished sixth in the women's 200 meters with a time of 24.66m.

Morgan Middleton finished sixth in the women's 600 meters with a time of 1:39.50.

Alyssa Williams finished seventh in the women's 600 meters with a time of 1:43.86.

LaNeeyah Garrison finished seventh in the women's high jump with 1.52m.

Haely Grant finished ninth in the women's 400 meters with a time of 58.40.

Alyssa Williams, Mariana Morillo, Haely Grant and Zion Harvey finished fourth int he women's 4x400 relay with a time of 3:53.14.




The world-class Birmingham Crossplex facility boasts a six lane oval hydraulic track and eight-60 meter lanes for sprint/hurdle events. The facility also features a 50-meter indoor Olympic swimming pool.   The hydraulic track features a Mondotrack surface and is one of only six in the United States and one of eight world-wide. The state of the art six lane oval track takes just ten minutes to raise or lower for banked corners. There are dual horizontal runways for pole vault, long jump and triple jump.  Additionally, dual high jump approaches can be configured along with dual throwing sectors for shot-put located outside the oval.

The 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held on Saturday, February 22 through Sunday, February 23 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

The event will be streamed live on Sunday, February 23 starting at 12:00 pm CST.

Texas Southern's Men's Indoor Track and Field team and Florida A&M Women's Indoor Track and Field team claimed titles in 2024. Please visit swac.org for heat information as well as up-to-the-minute results and standings.
