DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - On April 15, 2025, it was announced by the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) that for the second week in a row, Bethune-Cookman ranks second in the nation for team long jump average — making history as the first team composed of four freshmen to achieve this feat.
On April 7, the Wildcats competed at the Embry-Riddle Classic in Daytona Beach. Nine first place finishes were highlighted in the event including thirty-seven top ten finishes, a SWAC Newcomer of the Week nomination (
Kasie Ugeh), and a national performance ranking in the long jump by
Sytrevion Dyer (7.31m),
Xavier Bogan (7.70m), Ammarion Grant (7.39m), and Lester Williams (7.02m).
The success only continues for head coach Garron Jackson and his staff. Last weekend, B-CU traveled to Tampa for the USF Invite. For the second week in a row, the Wildcats rank number two in the nation for team long jump average. This time, it was all freshmen who made the mark -
Sytrevion Dyer (7.43m),
Xavier Bogan (7.70m), Ammarion Grant (7.39m), and
Michael Carter (7.39m). It marks the first time in Bethune-Cookman history that all freshmen have achieved this accomplishment.
