BIRMINGHAM Ala. -  Junior Kasie Ugeh was named SWAC Newcomer of the Week for the first time this season. It was announced Wednesday at the headquarters in Birmingham, Ala.

Kasie Ugeh was named Southwestern Athletic Conference Co-Athlete of the Week, Friday April 4 from the conference headquarters in Birmingham, Ala.  Last weekend at the ERAU Running Elements Classic, she placed first in both the discus (47.39m) and shot put (13.73m).

Ugeh was also impressive in Miami during the Hurricane Invitational earlier this season in March. She finished third in the discus with a mark of 42.37m. The Nigerian native also PR'd earier this season at the UCF Invite in the shot put, discus, and javelin.
