B-CU to Honor 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame

Wildcats to induct first class since 2018

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Bethune-Cookman University Department of Athletics will announce its first Hall of Fame class induction since 2018 this upcoming fall, which will honor its 2025 induction class on Friday, September 19, 2025. The event will take place at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center on the B-CU campus beginning at 6 p.m.

The Athletics Hall of Fame weekend coincides with the Wildcats' first home football game of the 2025 campaign, as Bethune-Cookman welcomes Edward Waters to Daytona Beach for the first time since 2010.

"We are thrilled to reignite this prestigious tradition that celebrates the exceptional individuals who have made lasting contributions to Bethune-Cookman Athletics," said Reggie Theus, B-CU Athletic Director and Men's Basketball Head Coach. "The Hall of Fame allows us to properly honor our athletic legacy while inspiring current and future Wildcats to pursue excellence both on and off the field."

The 2025 class will recognize outstanding former student-athletes, coaches, and two teams whose achievements and dedication have elevated the Bethune-Cookman athletic program as trailblazers throughout the history of the program. Selection criteria include athletic achievement, academic success, character, and contributions to the university and broader community.

With such a wide gap since the last induction, the 2025 version of the Athletics Hall of Fame represents a significant milestone in celebrating the rich athletic heritage and outstanding achievements that have defined Bethune-Cookman University Athletics for a century. The Hall of Fame serves as a permanent tribute to the student-athletes, coaches, and contributors who have brought honor and distinction to the Wildcats athletic program.

"We just felt like it was time to induct a new class into the Athletics Hall of Fame here at Bethune-Cookman University," continued Theus. "It's been seven years, and since that time, we've had numerous coaches and student-athletes – and even teams, in particular, that have put their names into the vast pool of candidates we have that just continues to grow more and more each and every year. It's time for us to start honoring these individuals once again."

Details regarding the specific inductees for the 2025 class will be announced in the coming weeks.

Founded in 1904, Bethune-Cookman University has a storied athletic history spanning more than a century, with numerous conference championships across two divisions – NCAA Division I & II, individual accolades, and professional athletes who have competed at the highest levels of their respective sports.
