DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -  Kailyn Peters of B-CU Women's Basketball and Andrew Kiplagat of B-CU Track & Field have been named Wildcat of the Week for the week of January 5-11, 2026.

Kailyn Peters served as the Wildcats go-to during their first week of SWAC play. The Senior guard led B-CU in scoring against Southern with 15 points and in their second contest against Grambling State with a season-high 20 points. Across both contests her efficiency carried. In total, she was 12-of-18, 4-5 from beyond the arc, including 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

Andrew Kiplagat continued his tremendous year with a program record and first-place finish in the 3000m this weekend at the Gamecock Opener, hosted by South Carolina. His time was 8:18.68, almost 7 full seconds ahead of second place.

Each week, The Bethune-Cookman Office of Athletic Communications recognizes one male and one female student-athlete through the Wildcats of the Week award.

This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of Wildcat Athletics.
