Justin Morales has been selected to pitch in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, it was announced Friday, February 6. The Oranjestad, Aruba native will represent The Netherlands in the international event

The ability for him to learn from some of the best to play the sport is exciting. We look forward to supporting him throughout his preparation for the season and the World Baseball Classic.
Morales is one of just three active Division I baseball players to be selected to the event. Matous Bubenik of UNC Wilmington and Tomas Lopez of Columbia were selected to participate for the Czech Republic and Brazil, respectively.
Morales, a transfer from Tallahassee State College, finished his sophomore season 3-4 in 14 games and 10 starts. He struck out 42 batters in 48 innings, working a 6.38 ERA. He previously participated on the Dutch National team, including youth teams at World and Euro Cups during his high school career.
The Morales family is no stranger to the world stage. His mother, Yvette Thuis is a former Olympic swimmer. His sister, Mikayla, was an Olympic qualifier in synchronised swimming.
The 2026 World Baseball Classic starts on March 4. Morales and the Netherlands will first take the field against Venezuela on March 6 in Miami at Lone Depot Park, home of the Miami Marlins. Morales will begin the season with Bethune-Cookman before reporting with the Dutch National team on March 1.
