BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the third time this season, starter Edwin Sanchez has been named SWAC Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon from its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Sanchez continues to perform at a high level for the Wildcats as the team's Saturday starter. He was outstanding yet again versus Alcorn State as B-CU improved to a perfect 6-0 in SWAC. Sanchez tossed seven innings of one-run ball, allowing just five hits with four strikeouts. 

Bethune-Cookman has now been awarded eight weekly honors of the season for B-CU

The Wildcats look to remain perfect as they host the Jackson State Tigers at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The series is set to begin Friday at 7 p.m.
