BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the third straight week, Bethune-Cookman collects SWAC Weekly honors, this time with
Darryl Lee and
Michael Benedict collecting the awards - it was announced Wednesday from the conference headquarters in Birmingham, AL.
Darryl Lee was named SWAC Hitter of the Week for the first time this season after finsihing as one of the top bats in a dominant 4-0 series sweep against Delaware State. In 14 at-bats in the series, he scored 10 runs, had 10 hits, - six for extra bases - along with four RBI, five doubles, and two steals.
Michael Benedict takes his first career weekly honors with SWAC Newcomer of the Week. In two appearances against USF and Delaware State, he tossed six scoreless innings, allowing just four hits with six strikeouts.
This marks the fifth and sixth weekly honors of the season for B-CU
B-CU returns to action on Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. as they take on Miami in the first road contest of the season.
