DAYTONA BEACH, Fla - Our spring sports have been on an outstanding run, beating top ranked opponents, setting program records and gaining national attention. While most of our athletes deserve a nod, two of the standout Wildcats, Jasmine Mañebo and Jean Carlos Zambrano, have been named Wildcats of the Week for the week of April 6-13.

Not only did Jasmine Mañebo hit her first career home run in the series win against Jackson State, she also contributed a bases clearing double to ensure the win in game three of the series. The series also ensured a season-high in RBI with five. The freshman has also been solid behind the plate, having perfect fielding percentage in the Jackson State series.

Jean Carlos Zambrano against LSU was electric. He came into the game with the bases loaded and struck out the side. In his first win of the season, he allowed zero earned runs and only one hit. He's come into games in the relief spot this season, only going a few innings; however, he pitched four against LSU and was lights out.

Each week, the Bethune-Cookman Office of Athletic Communications recognizes one male and one female student-athlete through the Wildcats of the Week award.

This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of Wildcat Athletics.
