DAYTONA BEACH, Fla - Track and Field are competing in the SWAC Championships this week and two of the standout Wildcats are Michael Carter and Kasie Ugeh. They have been named Wildcats of the Week for the week of May 4-10. 2026.

Kasie Ugeh continues her stellar career for B-CU, taking first place in the javelin with a 40.05m throw. She has previously set the program record in the javelin with a 41.97m throw. Earlier in April, she also set a program record in the discus with a 49.0m throw, as well.

Michael Carter has shined bright on the B-CU stage this season. This spring he has amassed 2 SWAC Field Athlete of the Week Honors. In the SWAC Championship, he brought home first place in the Long Jump and set a new program record with a 7.89m jump

Each week, the Bethune-Cookman Office of Athletic Communications recognizes one male and one female student-athlete through the Wildcats of the Week award.

This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of Wildcat Athletics.
