Bobbie Williams Named to First Team All-America in FCS Football

New York, N.Y. - The honors continue to come for two Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats in the sport of football as senior free safety Bobbie Williams and senior inside linebacker Ronnie McCullough have recently been named to the AP All-America Team for defense.

Beginning with Williams, a hard-hitting free safety from the football-heavy city of Miami, he completed a stellar career as a Wildcat with 15 interceptions to his credit. That allowed Williams to finish tied for fourth place all-time in career interceptions alongside John Bostic (1980-83). Williams also ended the season with 77 tackles ... ending his career with 262 total tackles. Williams was a First Team All-MEAC selection this year for the second time in his career.

Williams was named as a First Team defensive back by the Associated Press. Williams was named as a Sports Network and Walter Camp All-America selection two years ago.

Last, but certainly not least, is senior linebacker Ronnie McCullough. Named as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Year just two weeks three was selected to the Third Team for the AP All-America Team after finishing atop the nation and MEAC in tackles (149).

McCullough also led the Wildcats in quarterback sacks (5), quarterback hurries (5) and finished atop the team in tackles-for-loss (20).

This is the first time McCullough is being named to the AP All-America Team after transferring into B-CU two years ago from the University of South Florida.

Bobbie Williams is currently listed as the top-ranked defensive back in FCS for the upcoming NFL Draft, while Ronnie McCullough is listed as the number three (No. 3) interior linebacker.

Ricky Santos (QB) of New Hampshire, as well as Omar Cuff (RB) from Delaware was unanimous First team selections on offense. Cuff will lead his team into the National Championship game on Fri., Dec. 14 against two-time defending champ Appalachian State in Chattanooga, Tenn.
