Five Run Third Inning Keys Victory

Lancara, Dahl Combine For Pitching Win Over Panthers

 

All Eight Runs Scored  For B-CU With Two Outs - DJ Leonard With 4 RBI

In the five-run third inning, an RBI double by DJ Leonard ripped a two-out-two-run double to the left center giving the `Cats a 5-2 lead. Alejandro Sanchez had an RBI single for the second time in the game to give B-CU a 6-2 lead.

 

B-CU starting pitcher Roman Lancara (3-1) pitched a solid game for the Wildcats throwing six innings and allowing seven hits and two earned runs. LHP reliever Justin Dahl pitched the final three innings in his top effort of 2010. Dahl struck out four and allowed only one hit and no runs

 

Miami Area Players With Big Crowd Watching Game At FIU

Friends and family of Miami area players Peter O'Brien (2-3, 2 runs), Justin Dahl - had family at the game with over 100+ B-CU fans behind the Wildcat dugout for the South Florida victory over FIU (19-14).

 

O'Brien 4th In Nation in Home Runs - Team Tied For Ninth in NCAA Home Runs

Sophomore Catcher Peter O'Brien is tied for 4th in the latest NCAA stats with 14 home runs in 2010. B-CU's 50 team home runs are tied for ninth overall in the weekly NCAA team stats.

 

B-CU (20-14, 6-0 MEAC) returns home Saturday 1 p.m. doubleheader and Sunday 1 p.m.single game, hosting Norfolk State in MEAC Conference play at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
