DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Despite the tough loss over the weekend to North Carolina A&T, one aspect of the Wildcats' game received additional recognition this week. Special teams played a notable role in keeping with the game within reach for B-CU into the fourth quarter. B-CU punter Kory Kowalski became the fourth Wildcat in 2011 to receive honors from the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA).
The Rockledge, Fla. native, Kowalski aided the Wildcats in the field position battle last weekend against the Aggies, punting four times for 199 yards and a season-best 49.8 YPK average on the day to earn honorable mention for the CFPA's national position awards. The B-CU junior dropped one kick inside the A&T 20 and had a long punt of 56 yards.
The Wildcats look to bounce back this weekend after two weeks on the road, facing off with Fort Valley State in the inaugural Biker Classic on Oct. 15. For the event, there will be a bike contest with prizes, in addition to special $5 motorcycle parking and $5 tickets to the visitor's side seating. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
