SAVANNAH, Ga. - Krysta Gardner had 13 kills while freshman Monica Lowe posted a double-double of 32 assists and 13 digs as Bethune-Cookman downed Savannah State 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 23-25, 25-15) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division match Friday night.
Gardner added four service aces and eight digs as B-CU (4-23 overall, 4-2 MEAC) snapped a five-match losing streak. The senior now needs three services to surpass Javanne Johnson's total of 126 for the school career record.
Lowe registered her second double-double of the season while posting a season-high dig total.
Freshman Destiny Hudson had eight kills, two service aces and six for the Lady Cats, while Aria Cormier had seven kills while hitting .429 and Janeen Davis six kills.
Bryana Gadis had 12 kills for Savannah State, now 0-27 and 0-6.
B-CU plays its final road match of the regular season at South Carolina State on Sunday.
