NORFOLK, Va. – Bethune-Cookman junior running back Anthony Jordan has been selected as this week's MEAC Offensive Player of the Week, announced Monday afternoon by the MEAC Office in Norfolk, Va.
Jordan, a 6-0, 220-pound junior from Atlanta, registered a career-high 150 yards on 21 rushing attempts, as the Wildcats defeated FIU – the school's first win over a member of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). On the day, Jordan accounted for 47 percent of the team's total offense.
Additionally, his 150 yards rushing was a game-high.
Jordan's lone score of the game came on the strength of a 58-yard rushing burst during the Wildcats first possession of the game. On that drive, Jordan was used on 75 percent of the plays, including a five-yard reception from quarterback Quentin Williams on the game's opening play. He broke loose for the game's opening score just three plays later.
The Wildcats return to the field Saturday, Sep. 21, traveling to face the team's second FBS opponent in as many weeks, this time in the form of eighth-ranked Florida State. Game time is set for 6 p.m., and will take place inside Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla. The contest will be streamed live via ESPN3 or the WatchESPN app on mobile devices.
