Bryans Continue To Boost B-CU Basketball

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Supporters of Bethune-Cookman University across the board, John and Lee Bryan have now turned their attention to the Wildcat basketball programs.

Known for their contributions to B-CU football, the Bryans now have made their second significant donation to basketball, it was announced today.

Lee is a 1964 Bethune-Cookman graduate and served as the Chairperson for the Athletic Training Center Steering Committee that oversaw the $4.6 million fundraising campaign that made that building a reality. John is retired from the United Parcel Service. Two of their  three children are alumni.

The reason the Bryans are now aiding the hoops effort is simple: They like to help, and they like what Head Coaches Gravelle Craig and Vanessa Blair-Lewis are doing with the B-CU Men's and Women's teams.

“We're offering our support so that their student-athletes can achieve their goals both on and off court,” John Bryan said. “Both Coach Craig and Coach Blair-Lewis are developing successful programs that the Wildcat family can be proud of.”

Craig, now in his third season, is “honored” by the Bryans' commitment.

“It always feels good to know that there are people like the Bryans who care enough to make a contribution like this,” Craig said. “It helps us out a lot.”

Both Wildcat teams are home Saturday against Maryland Eastern Shore and again Monday against Howard.
