JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bethune-Cookman setter Hazel Ortiz Rosado was named to the Jacksonville Marriott Classic all-tournament team after the Lady Cats dropped 3-0 decisions to Florida Atlantic and North Florida Saturday.
The junior had 84 assists, seven service aces and 24 digs for the Lady Cats (0-7) in the tournament's four matches. She had a season high 14 digs against Georgia State and another season high with four service aces against Jacksonville on Friday.
In Saturday's play, Florida Atlantic posted its second victory over B-CU this season with a 25-13,25-12,25-11 decision. Rhea Simon had eight kills for the Lady Cats, while freshman Rakaya Neely added four.
B-CU concluded the tournament with a 25-19, 25-15, 25-22 decision to the tournament co-host Ospreys.
Simon finished with 12 kills, eight in the first set, in addition to two service aces.
Neely had five kills and two blocks. Alexus Bennett added two service aces.
Defensively, sophomore Normarie Rolon had a career-high 18 digs, followed by freshman Rechez Lindsay with 17.
B-CU returns to action at the Lobo Invitational hosted by New Mexico.
