STORY LINES
• Bethune-Cookman's last meeting against a current member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) was a 58-30 defeat of Fort Valley State in 2001, at Municipal Stadium.
• Before joining the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in 1980, Bethune-Cookman was a member of the SIAC from 1950-79, winning titles in 1952, '73, '75 and '76.
• The last time the Wildcats opened their home slate this late in the season was 2012, playing Tennessee State (Sept. 22) at Municipal Stadium after starting three consecutive games away from home on the spin.
• Despite having a first-year head coach, Bethune-Cookman's offensive and defensive coordinators are the same with Charles “Yogi” Jones (defense) and Jim Pry (offense) at the helm.
• Picking up an interception and a fumble recovery last weekend at Grambling State, B-CU has now forced a turnover in four consecutive games – in addition to eight of the last nine – dating back to last season.
THE SERIES
Bethune-Cookman holds an unblemished 8-0 mark all-time in the series against the Lane Dragons. The Wildcats and Dragons last met in 1964, with Bethune-Cookman securing a 48-22 victory. The last time the two teams met in Daytona Beach was 1963, with Bethune-Cookman grabbing a 58-12 advantage in the outcome.

#5THINGS
1. Bethune-Cookman is seeking its ninth consecutive win over Lane College.
2. With 28 points in the fourth quarter against Grambling State, B-CU matched its largest scoring outburst for a quarter since defeating Prairie View A&M in the 2011 MEAC/SWAC Challenge.
3. Quarterbacks Larry Brihm, Jr. & Quentin Williams threw three touchdowns for the first time together at GSU.
4. The Wildcats are one of four teams in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) with similar 1-1 records heading into the weekend.
5. The Cats are seeking their fifth win at home against Lane College, but their first ever against the Dragons inside Municipal Stadium at Larry Kelly Field.
#SACKLUNCH
Under the guise of Defensive Coordinator Charles “Yogi” Jones, the Bethune-Cookman defensive pressure has been relentless since his arrival in Daytona Beach. Through two games in 2015, Bethune-Cookman has accumulated three quarterback sacks, averaging 1.5 sacks per game.
A WIN OVER LANE WOULD…
• Give Bethune-Cookman an eighth consecutive victory over an opponent from the SIAC.
• Allow Terry Sims a win in his home debut as a collegiate head coach.
• Push Bethune-Cookman's record to 9-0 all-time against Lane College.
• Give the Wildcats a home-opening victory in three consecutive seasons.
PLAYOFFS???...
Despite the announcement of the Celebration Bowl, a member of the MEAC still has the possibility of participating in the FCS Playoffs. A member would have to accept an at-large bid to the playoffs, which last happened with South Carolina State accepting the at-large bid in 2013. That same year, #12 Bethune-Cookman earned the league's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs before falling at #11 Coastal Carolina in the opening round.
LAST YEAR...
B-CU went 9-3 in 2014 (6-2 MEAC), claiming a share of the school's third consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship. One of the biggest moments of the year was the season-opening victory at FIU, marking the second time in as many years the Wildcats registered a victory over an FBS opponent. B-CU ended the season with a victory over rival Florida A&M in the annual Florida Blue Florida Classic at the Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium, giving the Cats their school-record fourth consecutive win over their conference foes from Tallahassee.
