NORFOLK, Va. - Bethune-Cookman senior Tristie Johnson was chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week. Bethune-Cookman's Akassja White was named the MEAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced earlier today.
Johnson (Sr., Jacksonville, Fla.) placed first at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge. She won the 100m dash with a time of 11.68.
White (So., Miami, Fla.) competed in two events at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge. She won the discus throw (37.64m) and took third in the shot put (13.01m).
B-CU returns to action Mar. 25, as the Wildcats travel to Coral , Fla. for the UCF Black and Gold Challenge.
