DAYTONA BEACH, Florida – Bethune-Cookman volleyball continues home action as the Wildcats host FGCU in a non-conference match, Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., in Warner Christian Academy Gymnasium.
 
BCU
The 3-12 Wildcats picked up two victories during Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opening weekend (Sept. 23-25), sweeping Savannah State and South Carolina State at home.
 
Junior Alondra Bautista leads the team with 2.13 kills per set, while posting three kill/dig double-doubles this season. Phylecia Armstrong set a program record with a .750 hitting percentage against Tulane, recording 15 kills with zero errors on 20 attempts giving her the second-best percentage in the nation. Armstrong ranks third on the team with 2.06 kills per set and leads the team with 48 total blocks.
 
On the defensive end, Normaire Rolon Soto has collected a team-best 157 digs (3.20 dps), while J'nai Higgins and Phalen Clark have split the setting responsibility with 223 (4.96 aps) and 216 (5.54 aps) assists respectively.
 
FGCU
The 13-2 Eagles extended their winning streak to 12 on Saturday night with a shut out over Stetson (25-14, 25-12, 25-14) in their first conference match of the season.
 
FGCU's streak ranks second among active streaks in the NCAA behind Nebraska who tallies 27 and ties for the third longest in FGCU's Division 1 history.
 
Leading the Eagle's offense, Amanda Carroll currently knocks in 4.38 kills per set while Maggie Rick paces the offense with 10.79 assists per set.
 
Defensively, Courtney Stephens leads FGCU with 4.09 digs per set while Marlene Moeller has collected 36 total blocks.
