NORFOLK, Va. – Bethune-Cookman University placed 125 student-athletes on this year's Commissioner's All-Academic Team, announced Friday afternoon by the league office from the headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia.
With 125 student-athletes named to this year's list, BCU has the third-highest amount of student-athletes from one school in this year's field of 13 member institutions. In all 1,209 student-athletes were honored across the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), honoring student-athletes honors student-athletes, including sophomores to seniors, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better throughout the 2016-17 academic/athletic term.
"I am excited to congratulate the 1,209 student-athletes who maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the 2016-17 academic school year," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. "I would like to commend the administrators, athletic academic support staffs and personnel, coaches, institutions, and parents for their contributions to the academic success of these student-athletes."
From Bethune-Cookman 55 female student-athletes saw their names on the list, while 70 male student-athletes had their names listed.
