RALEIGH, N.C. – Bethune-Cookman defensive end Marques Ford was named to the 2018 BoxToRow All-America Team, announced Monday afternoon from its home office in Raleigh, North Carolina. For Ford, this is his first BoxToRow All-America selection as a Wildcats student-athlete.
 
BOXTOROW has administered the All-America team since 2007 and the voters are comprised of media members from around the nation that cover HBCU football. In all, 20 teams were represented on this year's BoxToRow All-America squads.
 
Ford, a redshirt junior from Gibsonton, Florida, served as a starting defensive end for the Wildcats in 2018 under fifth-year head coach Terry Sims. The 6-4, 240-pound product of East Bay High and Jones County Junior College was a First Team All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) selection following the season.
 
He would finish the 2018 season eighth on the Wildcats squad with 42 total tackles (24 solo / 18 assisted). He would finish second in the MEAC with 8.5 quarterback sacks, in addition to 10.5 tackles for loss altogether. He amassed six quarterback hurries and recovered one fumble across the campaign.
 
Bowie State quarterback Amir Hall and Texas Southern wide receiver Bobby Hartzog were the top vote getters as 34 players were selected to the 12th annual BOXTOROW All-America Team.
