Another FCS All America Nod For @BCUGridiron's Robinson

AFCA Names Wildcat KO Returner To Its Second Team

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – For the second day in a row, Bethune-Cookman's Jimmie Robinson was named to an FCS All-America Team,  garnering a Second Team berth as a kick returner on 2019 AFCA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Coaches' All-America Team announced today by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

Robinson picked up his second STATS FCS All America nod in as many years on Thursday.

The senior from Palm Coast, Fla. set BCU's single-season kickoff return yardage, amassing 880 yards on 33 returns. His season game highs were 147 against Howard that included a 92-yard return and 144 against North Carolina Central that included a 79-yard touchdown.

Robinson also has BCU's single-game kickoff return yard record with 202 against Howard in 2018.

His two-year totals for kickoff returns (55) and yards (1,580) place him eighth and fifth on those respective lists.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions chosen exclusively by the coaches themselves.

BCU posted a 7-4 record in 2019, its third consecutive winning season and ninth in the decade. The Wildcats started the season with a victory over Jackson State in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge in Atlanta and concluded it with a ninth consecutive victory over archrival Florida A&M in the Florida Blue Florida Classic in Orlando.
