Daytona Beach, Fla. –Kemari Averett's award-winning postseason continues, as the American Football Coaches Association announced Wednesday that the tight end has been named a member of the 2021 AFCA FCS Coaches All-American First Team Offense.
The distinction marks the fifth postseason honor of 2021 for Averett, who was named to the 2021 All-SWAC First Team Offense last month, as well as the HERO All-American second team offense,the FCA ADA All-American team, and the 2021 Stats Perform FCS All-American Second Team Offense in recent weeks.
The Wildcats' number one weapon on offense finished the 2021 season with 52 receptions, 888 yards, and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 17.1 yards per catch and just over 80 yards per game. Averett led the Wildcats in every receiving category. His impressive numbers put him at or near the top of his conference as a receiving threat.
