Last Time Out
The Wildcats will look to bounce back from a tough weekend. B-CU was dealt a sweep at the hands of Florida A&M. The Wildcats were shutout in game one and managed five runs over the three games, stranding 30 baserunners.
With another SWAC series on the horizon this weekend at Alabama A&M, the Wildcats will hope to rebound quickly to get back on track.
Scouting the Hatters
The Hatters are 16-15 this season with a 4-8 record in ASUN play. The Hatters are 2-5 in seven games since their last meeting with B-CU, most recently dropping four straight – a midweek game at FSU and a conference series with Kennesaw State.
Stetson bats .262 as a team with 13 homers and 141 RBI. Outfielder Cameron Hill leads his team with 17 RBI and a .921 OPS. He has reached base in 26 straight games.
The Hatters have 39 fielding errors as a team.
The Starter
Marcos Gamboa will make his fourth start of the season Tuesday night, and his second consecutive start against Stetson. His last time out, he allowed four earned runs on five hits and two walks in 2.2 innings against the Hatters on March 30.
All-Time Series
Tuesday marks the 103
rd meeting all-time between the Volusia County-mates. Stetson owns a 77-25 advantage in the series, but the Wildcats have taken both games this season. A win Tuesday would tie the most consecutive wins for the Wildcats in the series.
Notes
- The Wildcats enter play Tuesday after a 14-hit performance on Sunday, their highest hit total in a game this season.
- With his two home runs Saturday night, Matthew Garcia became one of only eight SWAC players with a multi-homer game.
- Boris Peña is tied for eighth in the SWAC with four homers.
- Opponents are stealing against the Wildcats at a SWAC-low 59 percent clip. 16 of 23 runners have been caught attempting to steal.
