Last Time Out
 
The Wildcats rebounded this past weekend in their second conference sweep of the season at Alabama A&M. B-CU got strong performances on both sides of the ball as they outscored the Bulldogs, 21-8.
 
Their biggest challenge came in game two, when the Wildcats trailed, 2-1, in the seventh, before back-to-back doubles from Irvin Escobar and Brian Perez tied things up in the ninth and led the way for 5 Wildcat runs that secured the 6-2 win.
 
Scouting the Hurricanes
 
The No 2. Hurricanes are 28-8 this season with a 14-4 record in ACC play. Miami dropped two of three to Virginia Tech last weekend, snapping what had been a 14-game winning streak.
 
Miami bats .289 as a team with an .859 OPS and 44 homers. The Hurricanes have outscored their opponents by a collective 248-160 margin. Infielder Dominic Pitelli leads in the RBI department with 5 on six homers and a .840 OPS. Outfielder Jacob Burke follows at 35 RBI on a .339 average and six homers.
 
The Miami pitching staff has put up an 4.29 ERA and 1.29 WHIP This season. The Hurricanes have 41 errors as a team.
 
The Starters
 
Right-hander Joan Gonzalez will get the ball in his first start since early March. Gonzalez struggled early in the season as a starter, but has since excelled in a relief roll. Most recently, Gonzalez through 4.1 shutout innings, allowing only two hits with four strikeouts in relief against FAMU.

The Wildcats and Hurricanes have met 29 times in history. Miami holds a 24-5 edge in the series, most recently defeating B-CU, 13-5 on May 5, 2019.
