Duane Lee of B-CU cross country have been named Wildcats of the Week for the week of Sept. 25 - Oct. 1.
In two Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) matches last week for Bethune-Cookman, redshirt senior setter
Madison Coates helped power the Wildcats to a 1-1 mark with a win against Mississippi Valley State, respectfully. Across the two matches, the Hagerty High alum recorded 39 assists, 14 digs and a service ace. Against MVSU, Coates supplied her side with a match- and season-best 26 assists to go along with eight digs and a service ace. She tallied 13 assists and six digs versus Jackson State, giving her double-digit assists in her last five consecutive matches, and eight matches overall for the campaign.
Freshman men's cross country student-athlete
Duane Lee led Bethune-Cookman last week as part of the Florida State Cross Country Invitational taking place at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida. Competing in his first-ever collegiate meet, the Oakleaf High School alum crossed in a time of 29:14.4 for the Wildcats, leading the Maroon and Gold as the fastest individual performer on the day. He finished 264th overall in a jam-packed field of more than 340 competitors altogether.
