DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman Football welcomes in the next wave of Wildcats as 2023 National Signing Day gets underway. 

The Wildcats will look to bounce back after the 2022 season saw them finish at 2-9 for the second-consecutive year. 

The full list of 2023 signees is listed below. 

Peyton Nero
DB • 5-11 • 190 • Foley, Ala. • Fairhope HS / East Coast Prep

 

Arrives to BCU after spending the 2022 season at East Coast Prep in Great Barrington, Massachusetts… Also prepped at Fairhope High in Alabama… Collected 61 tackles as a junior with Fairhope High in 2021… Registered 5.5 tackles for loss, including two quarterback sacks… Had three pass breakups… Helped Fairhope to a 9-2 overall record in 2021, as well as a perfect 8-0 record in district play… Scored a touchdown on a blocked punt to open the 2022 season with East Coast Prep against Erie CC




Steven Mosley

Standout along the offensive line for Head Coach Steve Allen and the DeLand High School Bulldogs… Helped block for quarterback Tyron Moore who passed for over 1,200 yards and rushed for another 1,200 in 2022… Also had offers from Florida Memorial and Valdosta State…

Finished senior season with six sacks and an interception ... Helped his high school to a 14-7 record, including a 5-3 record in league play.

Played his high school football under Head Coach Jayson Roberts at Tampa Bay Tech… Also lettered in track & field… Received an offer from Southern (La.) before selecting Bethune-Cookman… Helped lead Tampa Bay Tech to a 14-1 record in 2021, and a place in the FHSAA Class 7-A State Championship against South Florida power St. Thomas Aquinas… In that title game, Washington passes for 226 yards… During his senior season in 2022, passed for 1,948 yards and 18 touchdowns, despite losing top receiver Greg Gaines III from the 2021 season, with the receiver now enrolled at Iowa State… Completed 104 passes for 171 attempts… Averaged 177.1 yards per game through the air… Registered 231 yards passing and a touchdown in a loss to Edgewater during the state playoffs… Had a QB rating of 157.1, passing for 314 yards and completing more 75 percent of his passes overall in a playoff win versus Fletcher…
