Last Time Out
The Wildcats polished off a four-game sweep of Purdue Fort Wayne on Sunday. They did so behind a stellar outing by Sunday starter Danial Gaviria, who spun nine shutout innings of three hit ball in the first complete game shutout by a Wildcat starter in over two seasons.
Scouting the Knights
UCF is out to a 6-1 start this season – their only loss a 13-3 decision to Florida Atlantic. Last weekend, the Knights swept Clemson, outscoring the tigers 27-15
Senior catcher Ben McCabe leads the Knights at the dish, hitting .429 with 10 RBI and 5 homers through seven starts.
The Starter
Pablo Torres will make the weeknight start for the Wildcats. In a two-inning appearance at FIU, he allowed one earned run on two hits with a pair of walks and four strikeouts.
UCF will counter with Najer Victor, a righty transfer from the ASUN's FGCU. A Sunday starter for the Eagles last season, he totaled a 2.89 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 37.1 innings pitched. He struck out the side in one inning pitched this season.
All-Time Series
This will be the 83
rd meeting all time between UCF and B-CU. The Wildcats have won 14 of those meetings, the last win coming back in 2003.
