DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Conference play begins for B-CU as they welcome in Alabama State for a three-game series, beginning Friday, March 17 at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. In anticipation of weather this weekend, The schedule has been adjusted - a doubleheader will be played Friday at 4 p.m., followed by the series finale Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Wildcats dropped a heartbreaker Tuesday night against Jacksonville, falling 8-7 after allowing two eighth inning runs. Boris Peña finished the night 3-4 to lead B-CU at the plate in the loss.
Reigning SWAC champion Alabama State is 10-8 on the season. The Hornets took down the Wildcats last spring on their way to the 2022 SWAC title. Most recently, the Hornets swept Lindenwood at home, outscoring the Lions 24-5 on the series.
The Hornets are hitting .318 on the season. Their pitching staff has combined for a 5.79 ERA and 166 strikeouts in 152 innings pitched. Ian Matos leads the Hornets at the plate, with 19 RBI and a .424 average.
This will be the ninth meeting all-time between B-CU and Alabama State. The Hornets hold a 5-3 advantage after sweeping the final four contests with B-CU last season.
