The Wildcats dropped two of three to Jackson State this past weekend in Mississippi. The Wildcats overcame a blown two-run ninth inning lead in game one to take down the Tigers, 9-7 in 13 innings.
The two teams played a doubleheader on Sunday due to weather concerns on Saturday, with the Tigers taking both sides, 3-5, and 3-7 respectively.
Both contests this week will feature rematches of opponents from early in the non-conference schedule.
FIU defeated the Wildcats, 12-2 in Miami in the first midweek contest of the season. The Wildcats led Jacksonville heading into the eighth back on March 14 before the Dolphins plated two in the top of the inning or an 8-7 win.
Both Jacksonville and FIU were swept in their respective conference series last weekend.
- Hylan Hall and Luis Tuero are tied atop the B-CU stat sheet in batting average, both are batting .347 on the season.
- Robert Moya extended his on-base streak to 24 games after last weekend. He has walked more than any other Wildcat this season.
The Wildcats are 15-48 against Jacksonville all-time. They are 15-54 against FIU all-time.
