Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Wildcats dropped their first of two midweek contests this week, 14-4 at the hands of Jacksonville, Tuesday night at John Sessions Stadium.
The Wildcats (21-21, 12-7 SWAC) scored first in the top of the first inning as
Garrett Chun opened the contest with a walk and came around to score on a Boris Pena RBI single.Â
Jacksonville (26-18, 10-11 ASUN) quickly jumped on the Wildcats a half-inning later, plating six on four RBI singles to make it 6-1 in a hurry.Â
The Dolphins added runs in the second, third, and fourth to make it 9-1 before B-CU grabbed one back in the top of the fifth on an
Irvin Escobar RBI single that scored
Jason Hodges.
Two more runs came around to score for B-CU in the sixth as Hodges cleared the wall in left center, his second homer of the season, to cut the deficit to 9-4.
From there, the Dolphins scored one in the seventh and four in the bottom of the eighth to finish off the 14-4 victory.Â
Louis Lipthratt made the start and took the loss for B-CU. He finished two innings, allowing seven earned runs on eight hits with two walks and a strikeout.Â
Gerald Bess,
Santiago Gomez, Brian Pina, and
Yoansell Diaz also appeared out of the bullpen for B-CU.Â

The Wildcats are right back to work Wednesday night as they return to "The Jack" to host FIU. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
