BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – O'Mariyah Tucker has been named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Basketball Impact Player of the Week for the period of January 23-29, announced Tuesday afternoon by the home office in Birmingham, Alabama.
 
Tucker, a 5-foot-11, senior guard from Ocala, Florida, is earning her first SWAC weekly award after helping Bethune-Cookman to a 2-0 week with wins away to Mississippi Valley State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff, respectively.
 
The McEachern High alum averaged 11.5 points and nine rebounds for the Wildcats on the week.
 
Against Mississippi Valley State, Tucker scored nine points on a 4-for-7 shooting touch from the field, pulling down six rebounds and handing out one assist in a 76-57 victory over the Delta Devils. Two days later, she registered 14 points with three (3) three-pointers against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, adding 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the campaign. She went on to post one assist and two steals on the night.
 
In other weekly awards handed out, UAPB guard Zaay Green was named SWAC Player of the Week.
