DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman punter
Anthony Frederique has been named a 2024 HBCU College Football All-America Team Honorable Mention according to BOXTOROW, it was announced Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Anthony Frederique posted the best season at punter in the SWAC, and one of the best-ever seasons by a Wildcat punter in program history, finishing just over one yard short of the program record in average yards per punt. His 2840 total punt yards on 66 punts (43.03 YPP) is the most total punt yards in a season in program history, breaking the previous record of 2,688, set back in 1978. Frederique led the SWAC in total punts (66), punts of 50+ yards (17), and punts inside the opponent 20 (25). He did not have a punt blocked. On a critical fourth-down punting situation at Mississippi Valley State, Frederique broke out a fake play, rushing for 18 yards and the first down to keep a B-CU drive alive that ended in a field goal to put the Cats up 10 on the road.
Frederique was named All-SWAC First Team at punter on Dec. 3.
