Dolphins Visit Daytona in Final Non-Conference Tune-Up

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman faces one more non-conference tuneup before SWAC play begins in earnest as they welcome in the ASUN's Jacksonville, Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.  Tickets start at just $10. Follow the Wildcats In-Story Header Tuesday, March 12 Opponent: Jacksonville (5-10, 0-0 ASUN) Time: 7 p.m.  Location: Daytona Beach, Fla. | Jackie Robinson Ballpark Live Stats: https://bcuathletics.com/sidearmstats/baseball/summary Watch: https://www.youtube.com/cateyenetwork List Time Out Header The Wildcats stranded 13 runners as Maine took the series finale, 6-4, Sunday afternoon at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.  A three-run homer in the top of the second gave Maine the first lead of the afternoon off the bat of Logan Burrill  The Wildcats rebounded with two runs as a Maine throwing error and a bases-loaded walk made it a 3-2 game. The Wildcats left the bases loaded in the inning.  B-CU tied it up in the third thanks to another error by Maine, allowing Jose Gonzalez to cross the plate. Maine jumped in front again in the sixth on three straight base hits, chasing the Wildcats starter Danial Gaviria. An RBI double scored two more to make it 6-3, Black Bears. The Wildcats stranded two runners in the bottom of the sixth and the bottom of the eighth before threatening once again in the bottom of the ninth.  A walk and Jorge Rodriguez ground rule double put runners on second and third with the winning run at the plate. A Peter Vazquez groundout made ti 6-4, but a strikeout ended the rally for B-CU. Gaviria suffered the loss. He allowed six runs - all earned - on nine hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Dylan Vega was excellent in relief. He tossed four innings, allowing just a hit and a walk with two strikeouts Scouting the Opponent In-Story Header Jacksonville is 5-10 this season with wins over Cincinnati, Delaware, Ball State, and Valparaiso. The Dolphins enter Tuesday night off four straight losses, including a drubbing at the hands of Cal State Fullerton in which they were swept in a three-game series in which they were outscored 40-7. The Dolphins are hitting .269 as a team, and allowing a 7.80 ERA with 84 walks to 134 strikeouts. Justin Nadeau leads the Dolphins at the plate, hitting .404 with five doubles, a triple, and 10 RBI. Abdriel Delgado, Josh Steidl, and Clayton Hodges each also have double-digit RBI for Jacksonville.  Notes & Stats In-Story Header
