BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Wide receiver
Javon Ross and Defensive back Antwon Watts have been named SWAC Special Teams and Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday from the conference office in Birmingham, Alabama.
Javon Ross did it all for the Wildcats Saturday as they finished off an undefeated home season with a 42-34 win over Mississippi Valley State. Most notably, he took the opening kickoff to the house for an 85-yard touchdown to give the Wildcats the lead from the jump.
Antwone Watts proved his place as one of the top defensive backs in the SWAC with a game-sealing 32-yard pick-six as the Wildcats finished off an undefeated home season with a 42-34 win over Mississippi Valley State. He also added two pass breakups, and a team-high 11 tackles - nine solo
The Wildcats begin their final road trip of the season as they take on Grambling State on Saturday, November 8 at 3 p.m. EST
