DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. -  Joel Core of B-CU Baseball and Kasie Ugeh of B-CU Track & Field have been named Wildcats of the Week for the week of March 24 - March 30, 2025. In addition, for the first time this year, Xavier Bogan has earned Co-Wildcat of the week.

Joel Core tossed the first no-hitter for Bethune-Cookman since 2017 as he blanked Southern Saturday afternoon. The Orlando native struck out six batters to maintain his SWAC lead in the category as the Wildcats dominated the Jaguars, 18-1 to take the season series. With 45 strikeouts through 33 innings pitched, Core has matched his 2024 season total with 17 fewer innings pitched with over 20 fewer walks. 

Kasie Ugeh has been named Wildcat of the Week for the second week in a row, respectively. She finished third in the discus with a mark of 42.37m. The Nigerian native also PR'd last weekend at the UCF Invite in the shot put, discus, and javelin.

The Wildcat men were led by Xavier Bogan who placed first in the long jump. His mark of 7.70m topped the NCAA Leaderboard as a top five mark for all of Division I this season.

Each week, The Bethune-Cookman Office of Athletic Communications recognizes one male and one female student-athlete through the Wildcats of the Week award.

This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of Wildcat Athletics.
