BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A trio of Wildcats earned Southwestern Athletic Conference weekly honors after stellar performances against Edward Waters on Saturday, it was announced Monday from the league office in Birmingham, Alabama.
Maleek Huggins took home Offensive Player of the Week honors,
Khamani Robinson was named Newcomer of the Week, and
Max Tulen rounded out the week as Specialist of the Week.
It marks the first weekly honors in the careers of each, and the first three weekly honors of the season for the B-CU program.
Maleek Huggins led an excellent offensive effort for the Wildcats in their first win of the season over Edward Waters on Saturday. He hauled in six receptions for a career-high 177 yards and two touchdowns, including a career-long of 82 yards. Through just four games on the 2024 season, Huggins has surpassed his touchdown total from all of 2024. He has recorded two scores in each of the last two games after having no multi-touchdown games in 2024.
Khamani Robinson enjoyed a breakout game against EWU. On 12 rushing attempts, he racked up 114 yards with a touchdown, including a 75-yard breakaway score.
Max Tulen held down the special teams unit for the Wildcats Saturday. In his fourth game as the Wildcats' starting punter, he punted five times for 231 yards with a long of 55. He placed three kicks inside the 20.
The Wildcats will get set to host Alabama A&M for the SWAC opener on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. at Daytona Stadium.
