Jordan, Stoute Grab Chick-fil-A Weekly Award

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Deidra Jordan and Keron Stoute of the men's and women's track & field teams have each been named as Bethune-Cookman University Chick-fil-A Student-Athletes of the Week for Feb. 17-23, 2014. This is the first time all year track & field has swept weekly honors.

Deidra Jordan, a senior multi-events native of Swainsboro, Ga., collected her first MEAC title in the pentathlon over the weekend at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md. The title came in the annual Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. The junior earned first place honors in the multi-event, recording a 3,529-point performance, highlighted by a first place finish in the event's high jump and second in the long jump.

Senior multi-events athlete Keron Stoute successfully defended his title as MEAC Indoor Track & Field Heptathlon Champion over the weekend at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md. The Manchester, Connecticut native again earned first in the heptathlon, registering a point total of 4,778; a victory by an 81-point margin. His performance was highlighted by event wins in the high jump and shot put, while finishing second in the 60m dash, 60m hurdles and long jump.
